Animation Show Toy from 2002-2005?

I remember this old TV cartoon animation from either Carton Network or Nickelodeon when I was little. I also remember having toys created from this animation. The show and toys were based around these small robots held in your hand that were about 3-4 inches big that were slid horizontally and shot small balls across this strip to the enemy's robot that would be shooting at you at the same. The small balls that were shot out of the robots stayed in the playing area and the person playing would pick them up and reload them into their robot. My question is if anyone remebers the name of these toys and the show the originated from?
